Jo Collection didn’t come from a lifelong love of skincare. It came from a full-blown skincare disaster.

In law school, I tried a trendy cleansing tool and wrecked my skin. Redness, peeling, even burns from a prescription cream meant to help, but that only made it worse. My skin barrier was destroyed.

I was overwhelmed, embarrassed, and afraid of every product I touched. Not to mention, long working hours coupled with later raising kids, I found that a traditional 12-step skincare routine was practically impossible to fit into my schedule.

So I did what I knew how to do: I researched like hell (and questioned everything). Clinical studies, cosmetic chemistry courses, expert consultations, and a little help from my parents. (My mom was a trained cosmetician. My dad’s a pharmaceutical chemist with an FDA-compliant lab.) I became a part time cosmetic chemist.

With my families help, I created the Pineapple Peel: a gentle, leave-on exfoliator that gave me my skin back and my time back.

It became the foundation of Jo Collection and our entire philosophy: Cleanse. Treat. Protect.

Named in honor of my late mom "Jo", her wisdom for skincare is passed on with my research passed forward.
