Ingredients, Demystified
Full Ingredient Breakdown: What’s Inside and Why
At Jo Collection, we believe skincare should be simple, honest, and transparent. That is why we share every ingredient we use, along with what it does and why it matters. No mysteries, no marketing fluff. Just real science explained in a way that makes sense, so you know exactly what you are putting on your skin. And if you ever have questions, we are here to answer them.
Green Queen Foaming Facial Cleanser
Purified Water, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Methyl Gluceth-10, Glycerin, Aloe Vera, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyquaternium-7, Niacinamide, Citric Acid, Camellia Sinensis, Sodium Gluconate, Kale Extract, Spinach Extract, Hyaluronic Acid.
These ingredients make up the foundation of the formula and help keep your skin soft, balanced, and moisturized.
- Water (Aqua): The liquid base of the formula. It dissolves and carries the other ingredients so they can actually do their job.
- Glycerin: A hydrating ingredient that draws water into the skin and helps keep it there. It supports your barrier and gives the cleanser a smooth, non-drying feel.
- Methyl Gluceth-10. A gentle sugar-derived humectant that adds a silky feel.
- Hyaluronic Acid. Binds water and plumps the skin with lightweight hydration.
These ingredients remove dirt, oil, and sunscreen without leaving your skin tight or compromised. We use a blend of gentle surfactants because no single ingredient does it all. This combination allows the cleanser to work effectively while still protecting your skin barrier.
- Sodium Cocoamphoacetate: A coconut-derived surfactant that boosts mild foaming and helps reduce irritation.
- Lauryl Glucoside: Plant-based cleanser that adds gentle lather and helps the product rinse away cleanly.
- Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate: An amino acid–based cleanser that’s exceptionally mild and barrier-safe.
- Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate: A sugar-derived surfactant that strengthens the cleansing system while keeping it gentle.
- Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine: Supports a rich foam and softens the cleansing process so it feels less drying.
Just because a cleanser gets rinsed off doesn’t mean it shouldn’t do more than clean. These soothing plant-based ingredients help calm, hydrate, and nourish your skin while you wash, reduce irritation, and support your barrier from the very first step.
- Aloe Vera: soothing and cooling to calm skin while you cleanse.
- Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea): antioxidant support to help defend against environmental stress.
- Kale Extract: vitamin-rich loaded with vitamins A, C, and K to support healthy, resilient skin and supports overall skin wellness.
- Spinach Extract: nutrient-dense and antioxidant botanical that conditions and balances the skin.
- Niacinamide: vitamin B3 that supports the skin barrier, helps even tone, and balances oil.
- Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters: A skin-conditioning agent that mimics natural lipids for a soft, smooth feel.
- Polyquaternium-7: Lightweight conditioner that offsets potential dryness from cleansing.
The name sounds chemical, but it’s simply a water-soluble polymer (think of it like a silky film former) that helps reduce the dryness sometimes caused by cleansers. It doesn’t penetrate or alter your skin, it just sits on the surface to improve feel and comfort.
These ingredients help the cleanser stay stable, safe, and effective every time you use it. They control the pH so it stays close to your skin’s natural level, which protects your barrier. They also prevent unwanted reactions inside the bottle, like changes in texture, scent, or color over time (especially when botanical extracts are involved):
- Citric Acid: lowers the pH of the formula to keep it close to your skin’s natural level. This helps protect your barrier and ensures the cleanser is both effective and gentle.
- PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate:
A sugar and oil derived ingredient that thickens the cleanser and makes the lather feel silky and cushioned. It’s there for texture and comfort, not harsh cleansing. - Sodium Gluconate: Helps stabilize the formula so it stays consistent and safe.
These ingredients keep your cleanser safe from bacteria, mold, and contamination. Any skincare product that contains water needs a preservative system to stay stable. Without it, the formula could grow microbes that harm your skin. We use a gentle and widely accepted preservation system that protects the product without irritating sensitive skin.
- Phenoxyethanol: A broad-spectrum preservative that prevents the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold. It is approved for use around the world and is considered one of the safest options currently available. It is used in low amounts to help keep the product clean and effective from the first pump to the last.
- Caprylyl Glycol: Boosts preservation and adds a light hydration benefit.
Myth: Preservative-free means better for your skin.
Truth: Without preservatives, water-based products like cleansers can grow bacteria. A well-chosen preservative protects your skin and keeps the formula safe to use.
No Filler. No Irritants. Just What Works.
We leave out:
- Parabens and phthalates you don’t want on your face
- Sulfates that strip your skin barrier
- Essential oils that can cause irritation or breakouts
- Drying alcohols that strip your moisture barrier
- Harsh sulfates that over-clean and inflame
- Fragrance that lingers or disrupts sensitive skin
- Silicones that coat instead of clean
- “Miracle” ingredients that sound fancy but do nothing
- pH extremes that leave your face tight or squeaky
- Confusing actives that don’t belong in a daily cleanser
PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate
- Myth: PEGs are toxic and should never be in skincare.
- Fact: PEGs get a bad rap, but this form of the ingredient is derived from sugar and natural oils. In this formula, it simply thickens the gel and makes the lather feel silky. Modern PEGs are purified and safe for skin use. We use it because it improves your cleansing experience without compromising your barrier.
Polyquaternium-7
- Myth: “Quats” are harsh chemicals used in industrial products.
- Fact: This one is water-soluble and very gentle. It sits on the surface of the skin to make it feel soft and smooth, offsetting any dryness from cleansing.
Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine
- Myth: The long name means it’s harsh.
- Fact: It’s actually coconut-derived and included to help the foam feel soft and mild. It supports cleansing without stripping the skin barrier.
Phenoxyethanol
- Myth: It’s a harmful preservative.
- Fact: At the low level used in this cleanser (under 1%), it’s a safe, extensively and widely studied ingredient that protects your product from bacteria and mold. It keeps your cleanser fresh and safe to use.
Caprylyl Glycol
- Myth: Another “chemical” that sounds suspicious.
- Fact: It’s actually skin-friendly. It lightly hydrates while boosting preservation so the formula stays safe without harsher preservatives.
Still curious? If you ever have questions about any ingredient we use, reach out. We’re always happy to explain exactly what it does and why it’s there.
This isn’t one of those over-foaming cleansers that feels impressive but doesn’t actually touch your skin. Green Queen creates a gentle lather that stays close, clears out buildup, and rinses clean. No tightness. No residue. And because cleansing is the first step in protecting your skin, we included soothing, barrier-supporting ingredients too.
- Low-foam surfactants that cleanse where it counts instead of just making bubbles
- pH-balanced formula that respects your skin’s natural range, keeping it calm and comfortable
- Soothing botanicals like aloe, green tea, kale, and spinach to help buffer irritation and add antioxidant support
- Hydrating humectants like glycerin, methyl gluceth-10, and hyaluronic acid to support stressed or dry skin
- Free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, artificial dyes, and unnecessary fragrance
- Cleans without stripping your barrier, so your skin feels refreshed and never in recovery mode
The Pineapple Peel
Water (Aqua), Glycolic acid, Witch Hazel (Hammamelis Virginiana), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Zemea Propanediol, Salicylic Acid, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Polysorbate 20, Lactic Acid, Hydroxyethyl acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Squalane, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Hydroxide, Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Xanthan Gum, Hydrolysed Jojoba Ester, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Morus Alba Leaf Extract, Retinol, Fragrance.
These ingredients create the water-based foundation of the peel and help it absorb easily, glide smoothly, and stay hydrating instead of harsh.
- Water (Aqua): The liquid base that helps dissolve active ingredients and deliver them to your skin.
- Glycerin: A humectant that pulls water into the skin and helps maintain moisture balance. It supports barrier repair even during exfoliation.
- Zemea Propanediol: A naturally derived humectant from corn sugar. It softens the formula, improves penetration of active ingredients, and helps with skin feel.
- Xanthan Gum: A natural thickener that helps the product spread evenly and keeps the texture smooth.
- Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer: A stabilizer and film-former that gives the formula a silky texture and helps it stay evenly distributed on the skin.
- Sodium Hyaluronate: A smaller-molecule form of hyaluronic acid that helps bind water to the skin and keep it hydrated through the exfoliation process.
- Squalane: A lightweight, skin-identical oil that softens, smooths, and reinforces the skin barrier without clogging pores.
This blend of alpha and beta hydroxy acids, along with low-dose retinol and pineapple enzymes, helps remove dead skin, clear out pores, and smooth texture while staying gentle and balanced. It’s made to support what your skin used to do naturally, just back on the schedule it prefers. You get the glow without the sting, the smoothness without the flakes.
- Glycolic Acid: An AHA that exfoliates the surface of the skin, encouraging cell turnover and brightening dullness. It improves tone, texture, and the appearance of fine lines.
- Lactic Acid: A milder AHA that also hydrates while it exfoliates. It helps reduce sensitivity while improving softness.
- Salicylic Acid: A BHA that dissolves buildup inside pores. It helps reduce breakouts and blackheads without scrubbing or over-drying.
- Retinol: A low-dose retinoid that helps improve long-term skin renewal. At this level, it helps support smoother, brighter skin without irritation or flaking.
- Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract: A natural source of enzymes like bromelain. It provides gentle enzymatic exfoliation to complement the acids, especially on rough or uneven skin.
These ingredients help calm the skin and prevent redness or irritation while exfoliation is happening. They also support your barrier and protect against environmental stress.
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice: A skin-soothing hydrator that helps calm sensitivity and supports recovery. We use decolorized inner-leaf aloe to avoid irritation from aloin.
- Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract: A well-studied antioxidant that helps reduce inflammation and protect the skin from oxidative stress.
- Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract: A natural skin-balancing extract that helps reduce excess oil and tighten the appearance of pores. This is an alcohol-free version to prevent dryness.
- Morus Alba (Mulberry) Leaf Extract: A natural brightener and antioxidant that helps reduce the look of dark spots and discoloration. It also helps calm the skin.
These ingredients help stabilize the formula, control how active ingredients are delivered, and keep the pH in the right range for safe, effective exfoliation.
- Sodium Hydroxide: Used to adjust the pH of the formula to keep it in a safe and skin-compatible range. In this peel, it helps balance the acids so the exfoliation stays controlled and doesn’t go too far.
- Polysorbate 20 and Polysorbate 60: Emulsifiers that help distribute oils and actives evenly in the water-based formula. This helps maintain consistency and improves tolerance on the skin.
These bonus ingredients support softness and barrier health, especially after exfoliation.
- Hydrolyzed Jojoba Ester: A lightweight skin conditioner derived from jojoba oil. It helps soften the skin and adds a protective finish without feeling greasy.
These two ingredients help keep the formula fresh and stable over time. Because the Pineapple Peel is water-based, it needs a small amount of preservative to stay clean and effective from the first use to the last. We chose these because they’re widely used, well-studied, and gentle on skin.
- Phenoxyethanol: Helps keep the formula fresh by preventing the growth of unwanted bacteria. It’s used in very small amounts (Less than 1% the global standard) and is approved for skincare around the world.
- Ethylhexylglycerin: Supports the preservative system and also conditions the skin to keep the formula feeling smooth and balanced.
The formula includes a light Pineapple fragrance to enhance the user experience. It was one of the only changes made by the international chemists during final refinement of the original formula. We use just 0.4% fragrance total, and it does not contain essential oils. The scent is made with a small blend of aromatic compounds like citral, coumarin, hexyl cinnamal, and limonene, which are commonly found in natural fragrances and used here in trace amounts. We list them for transparency, not alarm.
No Filler. No Fluff. Just What Your Skin Actually Needs. We leave out:
- Physical scrubs and microbeads that scratch skin
- Sulfates, parabens, and phthalates (no thanks)
- Essential oils that sting or sensitize
- Harsh alcohols that disrupt your moisture barrier
- Overly strong retinoids that cause flaking or rebound irritation
- Fragrance oils (our added scent is minimal and skin-considered)
- Guesswork on pH or acid strength
- Trendy actives with no real payoff
- Multi-step acid layering that confuses more than it helps
“Daily exfoliation is too much for your skin.” Most peels are too strong to use every day. This one is buffered, balanced, and self-limiting, which makes it safe for regular use.
“You should rinse off any exfoliating acid.” This formula is designed to stay on your skin and stop itself. No rinsing required.
“If it tingles, it’s damaging your skin.” A little tingling is normal with active exfoliants like glycolic and salicylic acid. This peel is designed to tingle slightly, then stop on its own. This tingling feeling also goes away with consistent use.
“Fragrance has no place in skincare.” While we typically avoid unnecessary extras, this fragrance was added during formulation refinement to improve the experience. It is used at a low level and does not contain essential oils.
This is not your average exfoliant. It’s designed to gently support your skin’s natural renewal cycle instead of attacking it supporting your natural 28 day renewal cycle of your youth. Every part of the formula is intentional from the acid blend to the pH to the soothing extras that keep your barrier calm and hydrated.
- Balanced blend of AHA, BHA, and enzyme exfoliants: Glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acids work at different levels of the skin to remove buildup, smooth texture, and clear pores. Pineapple enzymes offer added surface-level smoothing for a boost without irritation.
- Low-dose retinol: Just enough to support long-term skin renewal, not enough to make your skin panic.
- pH-controlled and self-neutralizing: The formula is buffered so it stays effective for a short window, then stops itself. No guesswork, no layering, no rinsing required.
- Barrier-supportive ingredients built in: Aloe, glycerin, green tea, squalane, and sodium hyaluronate help hydrate and calm the skin during and after exfoliation. This is what allows daily use without the redness or flaking. This is also what is missing in most exfoliation products on the market!
- Tingles a little, works a lot That mild tingle means the acids are active, not aggressive. The peel stops working when your skin has had enough.
- No layering or multi-step acid cocktails: This is already balanced. You don’t have to play chemist at your bathroom sink. No timing, no rinsing, no guessing how to use it properly.
- Mimics your bodies natural process: Your skin naturally exfoliated every 28 days when you were young and slowed down as you aged. This was formulated to get you back on that rhythm of your youth!
If you want the benefits of a chemical peel without the downtime, stress, or 10-step skincare routines. This is the product for you!
Jo Collection's Night Cream
Purified Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Isopropyl Myristate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Squalene, Polysorbate 60, Ethyl Macadamiate, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Sunflower Seed Oil Polyglyceryl-3 Esters, Hydrogenated Sunflower Seed Oil Glyceryl Esters, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Marshmallow (Althaea Officinalis) Root Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, Ceteareth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), D-Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Citric Acid.
A good moisturizer starts with water-loving ingredients that bind moisture to your skin and keep it feeling plump, hydrated, and refreshed. These ingredients form the hydrating base that everything else builds on.
- Water (Aqua): The primary carrier that helps distribute all the good stuff evenly across your skin. It hydrates and activates other ingredients in the formula.
- Glycerin: A classic humectant that draws water into your skin like a sponge, keeping it hydrated and soft throughout the night.
These are the rich, buttery emollients and oils that actually nourish your skin sealing in hydration and restoring your barrier while you sleep.
- Cetyl Alcohol and Cetearyl Alcohol: Despite the word “alcohol,” these are fatty alcohols derived from plant oils. They act as emollients that soften skin, create a protective layer to slow water loss, and give the cream a creamy, cushiony texture.
- Isopropyl Myristate: A lightweight emollient that reduces greasiness and helps the cream absorb more smoothly. We use it to make the formula spread evenly and leave behind a soft finish rather than a heavy residue.
- Squalene: A skin-identical lipid that mimics the natural oils your skin already produces. It restores suppleness and helps replenish the barrier, making the cream deeply nourishing without feeling occlusive.
- Ethyl Macadamiate: Derived from macadamia oil, this ester was chosen for its silky, quick-absorbing texture. It leaves the skin velvety and conditioned, helping balance out the richer oils in the formula.
- Hydrogenated Sunflower Seed Oil Polyglyceryl-3 Esters and Hydrogenated Sunflower Seed Oil Glyceryl Esters: These plant-based emollients condition and smooth while being lightweight. They also help stabilize the formula naturally.
- Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters: A modified form of jojoba oil that penetrates more easily, leaving skin smooth and hydrated. It was included for its ability to mimic natural sebum and support soft, balanced skin.
- Dimethicone: A safe, breathable silicone that seals hydration into the skin while adding slip to the cream. It prevents water loss overnight and gives that soft, silky feel when you wake up. (It’s not the same as heavy silicones used in makeup primers and doesn’t suffocate your skin.)
These ingredients help calm redness, irritation, or general “my skin is stressed” vibes. Perfect for winding down after a long day or helping sensitive skin stay balanced.
- Marshmallow (Althaea Officinalis) Root Extract: Known for its high mucilage content, this extract forms a soothing film on the skin that helps calm redness and irritation. We added it for its ability to comfort sensitive or stressed skin overnight.
- Pisum Sativum (Pea) Extract: Rich in antioxidants and amino acids, pea extract helps defend skin against environmental damage while supporting firmness and elasticity. It’s in the formula because it provides protective care while skin repairs overnight.
- Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E): A stable form of vitamin E that acts as a strong antioxidant. It helps fight free radical damage and supports barrier repair. We included it to help skin recover and stay resilient.
- D-Panthenol (Provitamin B5): A skin-soothing vitamin that hydrates, calms, and supports barrier strength. It was added for its ability to reduce irritation and keep skin soft and supple.
These ingredients help the cream spread smoothly, feel luxurious, and lock in moisture overnight all while reinforcing your skin’s natural defenses.
- Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate: An emulsifier that also helps condition skin. It reinforces the barrier by improving how water and oils blend in the formula and on the skin’s surface.
- Glyceryl Stearate: Both a skin conditioner and a stabilizer, it softens skin and improves product texture. We included it because it balances nourishing emollients with a light application feel.
- Ceteareth-20: A mild emulsifier that ensures the cream stays smooth and stable. It was added to guarantee consistency from the first use to the last.
These ingredients make sure the formula stays safe, stable, and effective from the first scoop to the last.
- Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer: A modern gelling and stabilizing agent that keeps the cream light, silky, and non-greasy. It replaces heavier thickeners and makes the product feel elegant.
- Polysorbate 60: An emulsifier that blends water and oils evenly, ensuring stability and preventing separation.
- Citric Acid: A natural acid used in small amounts to adjust pH, keeping the formula balanced for skin compatibility.
A safe, modern preservative system keeps your product fresh and free of harmful bacteria. These ingredients are gentle on skin but tough on spoilage.
- Phenoxyethanol: A widely used preservative that protects against bacteria and mold. Used at low levels (under 1%) for safety and efficacy.
- Caprylyl Glycol: A multifunctional ingredient that boosts preservation and also conditions skin. It helps keep the product safe without needing harsher preservatives.
No Filler. No False Promises. Just Nighttime Relief That Works. We leave out:
- Sulfates, parabens, and phthalates that don’t belong in your bedtime routine
- Essential oils that irritate instead of soothe
- Heavy occlusives that clog instead of comfort
- Fragrance oils that overwhelm sensitive skin
- Drying alcohols that undo your repair process
- Overhyped actives with no real hydration benefit
- Claims that confuse “rich” with “greasy”
Dimethicone
- Myth: Silicones block your skin and just sit on top.
- Fact: Dimethicone is breathable and non-comedogenic. Dermatologists use it in barrier-repair creams because it locks in hydration without clogging pores. It also gives the cream a silky, smooth finish.
Phenoxyethanol
- Myth: This preservative is unsafe and should be avoided.
- Fact: At levels under 1 percent it is one of the most researched and globally approved preservatives. We use it because it keeps your cream safe from bacteria and mold without parabens or harsher preservatives.
Caprylyl Glycol
- Myth: The chemical-sounding name means it is harsh or unsafe.
- Fact: It is actually derived from fatty acids and works as both a skin conditioner and preservative booster. We chose it because it helps keep your product fresh and gentle at the same time.
Polysorbate 60 and Ceteareth-20
- Myth: PEG ingredients are harmful or “not clean.”
- Fact: These mild emulsifiers simply help water and oils mix evenly. Without them your cream would separate. They are safe, effective, and included so the texture stays smooth and reliable.
Isopropyl Myristate
- Myth: This ingredient always clogs pores.
- Fact: It can be comedogenic at high levels but it is used in low levels in our formula and it is balanced with lightweight moisturizers. We use it so the cream spreads evenly, absorbs quickly, and feels soft instead of greasy.
Most night creams either overload skin with heavy oils that clog pores or feel too light to provide lasting recovery. We designed ours to do both jobs- deeply hydrating while staying breathable and elegant. The formula combines plant-based emollients, modern esters, and soothing botanicals with vitamins and antioxidants for overnight repair. Every ingredient was chosen with intent: hydration that lasts, barrier support that protects, and a texture you’ll look forward to applying.
Twin Rose Facial Mist
Purified Water, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Rose Flower Oil.
- Purified Water: The foundation of the mist, purified water ensures clarity and safety while carrying the rose actives evenly across your skin. It gives lightweight hydration on contact and allows the product to feel fresh instead of heavy.
These calm your skin while your hydration does its job. Whether you’re dealing with heat, sensitivity, or irritation, these ingredients help reduce that stressed feeling and support a healthy, balanced barrier.
- Rosa Damascena Flower Water: Also known as Damask rose water, this ingredient has been used in skincare for centuries. It is naturally rich in antioxidants and helps calm visible redness, tone the skin, and refresh your complexion. We included it because it balances hydration with a gentle soothing effect.
- Rose Flower Oil: A concentrated form of rose that provides nourishing lipids and a subtle natural aroma. Rose oil supports skin comfort, softens texture, and offers antioxidant protection. We chose it because it adds depth to the hydration and calming benefits of rose water, creating a mist that feels both refreshing and nurturing.
This formula is naturally stable and safe at the concentrations used. Every batch is produced in a controlled lab environment and tested for safety before it leaves our facility.
No filler. No harshness. Just a mist your skin can trust. We leave out:
- Harsh or irritating essential oils: the only oil here is pure rose, chosen for skin benefits as well as its natural scent
- Drying alcohols that weaken the skin barrier
- Strong preservatives that can disrupt sensitive skin
- Added fragrance, the scent you notice comes naturally from rose oil
- Gimmicky floral waters that sound pretty but don’t actually help skin
- Sticky textures that leave a film instead of a refresh
Two real rose waters. Not one. Not scented water. Actual botanical hydration.
Most rose mists stop at a single type of rose water. We combined purified water, antioxidant-rich Damask rose water, and nourishing rose flower oil for a simple but powerful formula. It delivers hydration, comfort, and a refreshing lift without unnecessary extras.
Whether your skin is sensitive, stressed, or just dry and over it, this mist resets and replenishes in seconds.
Vitamin C Serum +Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E
Water (Aqua), Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange) Peel Oil, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Hyaluronate.
Even powerful ingredients like Vitamin C need a gentle, hydrating base to keep skin happy. These ingredients help your skin hold onto moisture while carrying the actives deeper.
- Water (Aqua): The foundation of most skincare. It helps dissolve and deliver key ingredients evenly across your skin.
- Sodium Hyaluronate: The salt form of hyaluronic acid and even better at penetrating. It holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, giving dry skin a dewy, fresh bounce.
This serum is all about results. These are the powerhouse ingredients that help brighten, even tone, and support skin’s natural defenses.
- Ethyl Ascorbic Acid: A stable form of Vitamin C that brightens, supports collagen, and helps protect against free radical damage. Unlike pure ascorbic acid, it’s less irritating and more shelf-stable.
- Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange) Peel Oil: Adds a natural citrus note. Used at a very low level, it contributes a fresh feel but isn’t the star of the formula.
- Tocopherol (Vitamin E): An antioxidant that works even better alongside Vitamin C. It soothes skin and helps protect against environmental stress. This duo is known to enhance each other’s effects and your glow.
Every skincare formula needs more than just active ingredients, it needs the right structure to keep those actives stable and effective. These supporting ingredients are what give our Vitamin C Serum its silky texture, prevent separation, and protect the potency of the formula over time. They’re the behind-the-scenes essentials that make sure every drop works the way it should.
- Polysorbate 20: Helps solubilize and evenly distribute the Vitamin C and orange oil in the water base, so the serum stays blended.
- Hydroxyethylcellulose: A natural-derived thickener that turns the serum into a smooth gel-like texture.
- Sodium Gluconate: A chelator that keeps minerals in water from destabilizing Vitamin C, improving shelf life.
Vitamin C is notoriously tricky. These ingredients help keep the formula fresh, effective, and safe with every pump. (The dark bottle and labeling is also intentional!)
- Phenoxyethanol: A gentle preservative that prevents the growth of bacteria, mold, and yeast. Keeps your product safe for daily use without irritating sensitive skin. Used here at a low concentration for effectiveness without overdoing it.
No filler. No flash. Just effective, everyday skincare that respects your skin barrier. What we leave out:
- No silicones or heavy oils
- No parabens
- No phthalates
- No harsh preservatives
- No unstable vitamin C derivatives that don’t deliver results
- No empty marketing just ingredients proven to brighten, hydrate, and protect
Most vitamin C serums are either too irritating, too oily, or lose potency fast. Ours was built to simplify all that while still delivering visible results.
- Uses Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, a more stable derivative that still delivers brightening and antioxidant power without going bad after a few weeks.
- Paired with Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid for a glow that feels as good as it looks
- Lightweight and fast-absorbing with no sticky or greasy residue
- Gentle enough to layer with your other favorites and strong enough to matter
The result is an effective, skin-friendly serum you’ll actually finish before it oxidizes.

- Glyceryl Stearate: An emollient that helps skin feel soft and smooth. It also contributes to the creamy texture.
- Isopropyl Myristate: Helps the cream absorb quickly and gives it a non-greasy feel while locking in moisture.
- Cetyl Alcohol: A fatty alcohol (non-irritating) that conditions and softens skin. Also helps emulsify the formula. Not to be confused with drying alcohols!
- Stearic Acid: Fatty acid that reinforces the skin barrier and gives the cream its thick, rich feel.
- Refined Shea Butter: A deeply moisturizing butter packed with fatty acids and nutrients. Helps nourish rough, dry skin.
These ingredients support healing and comfort, making the cream gentle enough for regular use on dry or irritated hands.
- Allantoin: Known for calming and healing properties. Helps reduce redness and supports skin recovery from irritation.
These ingredients support the skin's natural protective barrier and help the cream spread smoothly.
- Caprylyl Glycol: A moisturizing agent that also has mild preservative properties. Keeps skin soft and helps improve glide.
This set of ingredients keeps the formula effective, safe, and pleasant to use every time you apply it.
- Triethanolamine: Helps balance the pH and emulsify oils and water so the cream doesn’t separate.
- Carbomer 940: A thickening agent that gives the cream its silky consistency and stabilizes the formula.
- Sodium Borate (Borax): Used in very small amounts to emulsify and stabilize. Also helps maintain pH balance.
- Disodium EDTA: A chelating agent that prevents metal ions from destabilizing the formula. Helps preserve product integrity.
- Borax (Decahydrate): Similar to sodium borate, used to help emulsify and stabilize the cream. Listed separately here as it refers to the hydrated form.
Keeps the product fresh, stable, and free of harmful bacteria or mold.
- Phenoxyethanol: A globally approved preservative used at low levels (under 1%) to prevent microbial growth.
- Chlorphenesin: A gentle preservative that helps prevent contamination and extends shelf life.
No filler. No greasy residue. Just protection that actually absorbs.
We leave out:
- Sulfates
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Mineral oil
- Essential oils
- Harsh alcohols
- Silicones that just sit on the surface
- Overpowering fragrances that linger or irritate (Fragrance Free!)
- Gimmicky “actives” that don’t support skin repair
Your hands do too much to settle for stickiness or fluff. We skip everything that doesn’t help them heal.
Some ingredient names sound intense, but they’re here for good reason. We only use what’s proven safe and necessary to make your hand cream effective, smooth, and shelf-stable. Here’s the truth behind a few misunderstood ones:
- Borax (Sodium Borate): Cosmetic-grade borax helps stabilize and balance the pH of your cream. It’s not the same as cleaning borax or boric acid and is used in very small, tightly regulated amounts to keep your formula from separating.
- Phenoxyethanol: A gentle and widely used preservative that protects your product from bacteria and mold. It is not a paraben and is considered safe at low levels. Ours is well below 1 percent, just enough to do its job without irritating skin.
- Carbomer 940: Used to give your cream that soft, silky texture and keep it from turning watery. It helps thicken and stabilize the formula without being absorbed into your skin.
Bottom line
If it doesn’t improve the product, we don’t use it. But when something helps keep your cream safe, smooth, and effective, it stays (always in amounts that are proven safe and gentle).
Not all hand creams are built the same.
Originally made for healthcare workers who needed serious moisture without the scent. Now it’s here for everyone.
Designed to comfort your skin, not just coat it.
- Fast-absorbing and non-greasy
- Uses refined shea butter to deeply nourish without clogging
- Includes soothing ingredients like allantoin to calm irritated or dry skin
- Lightweight enough for daytime use but hydrating enough for night
- Designed to actually sink in, not just sit on top
- Fragrance Free
